History
It was created in 2005 by Australian bartender Sam Ross at the bar Milk & Honey in New York. The name refers to the antibiotic discovered by the Scotsman Alexander Fleming and to the mixture's reputation as a remedy, compared to a hot toddy for colds and flu. In 2024, it was the 11th most ordered cocktail in bars worldwide.
