History
Popularized around 1960, it honors Giuseppe Garibaldi, the general of Italian unification. It is said that the ingredients symbolize that union: Campari, from Milan, stands for the north and Garibaldi's Redshirts, and the orange, from Sicily, for the south. It was on the official IBA list in the past and returned to it in 2024.
