History
It was created in 2008 by Sam Ross, with Sasha Petraske, for the menu of Toby Maloney's bar The Violet Hour. Ross describes it as a riff on the Last Word and took the name from an M.I.A. song he was listening to while developing the recipe. The first version used Campari, which he later swapped for Aperol because he found the result too bitter.
