History

According to the classic version, published in 1948, it was born in 1941 at the Chatham Hotel in New York, from a meeting between John G. Martin of Heublein, Rudolph Kunett of Smirnoff, and Jack Morgan of the Cock 'n' Bull, which made ginger beer. In 2007, a new version began crediting Wes Price, Morgan's bartender, who is said to have created the mix to move the bar's unsold stock.
